” This is God’s Word on the subject: “As soon as Babylon’s seventy years are up and not a day before, I’ll show up and take care of you as I promised and bring you back home. I know what I’m doing. I have it all planned out—plans to take care of you, not abandon you, plans to give you the future you hope for. When you call on me, when you come and pray to me, I’ll listen. When you come looking for me, you’ll find me.” Jeremiah 29:11-14
“Do you see what this means—all these pioneers who blazed the way, all these veterans cheering us on? It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever. And now he’s there, in the place of honor, right alongside God. When you find yourselves flagging in your faith, go over that story again, item by item, that long litany of hostility he plowed through. That will shoot adrenaline into your souls! Hebrews 12:1-3
“Thank God! Call out his Name! Tell the whole world who he is and what he’s done! Sing to him! Play songs for him! Broadcast all his wonders! Revel in his holy Name, God-seekers, be jubilant! Study God and his strength, seek his presence day and night; Remember all the wonders he performed, the miracles and judgments that came out of his mouth. Seed of Israel his servant! Children of Jacob, his first choice! He is God, our God; wherever you go you come on his judgments and decisions. He keeps his commitments across thousands of generations, the covenant he commanded, The same one he made with Abraham, the very one he swore to Isaac; He posted it in big block letters to Jacob, this eternal covenant with Israel: “I give you the land of Canaan, this is your inheritance; Even though you’re not much to look at, a few straggling strangers.”(1 Chroncles 16: 8-19)
“Dear people, how have I done you wrong? Have I burdened you, worn you out? Answer! I delivered you from a bad life in Egypt; I paid a good price to get you out of slavery. I sent Moses to lead you— and Aaron and Miriam to boot! Remember what Balak king of Moab tried to pull, and how Balaam son of Beor turned the tables on him. Remember all those stories about Shittim and Gilgal. Keep all God’s salvation stories fresh and present.”
6-7 How can I stand up before God and show proper respect to the high God? Should I bring an armload of offerings topped off with yearling calves? Would God be impressed with thousands of rams, with buckets and barrels of olive oil? Would he be moved if I sacrificed my firstborn child, my precious baby, to cancel my sin?
8 But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.
9 Attention! God calls out to the city! If you know what’s good for you, you’ll listen. So listen, all of you! This is serious business.

Don’t, enemy, crow over me. I’m down, but I’m not out. I’m sitting in the dark right now, but God is my light. I can take God’s punishing rage. I deserve it—I sinned. But it’s not forever. He’s on my side and is going to get me out of this. He’ll turn on the lights and show me his ways. I’ll see the whole picture and how right he is. And my enemy will see it, too, and be discredited—yes, disgraced! This enemy who kept taunting, “So where is this God of yours?” I’m going to see it with these, my own eyes— my enemy disgraced, trash in the gutter.

Live, God! Blessings from my Rock, my free and freeing God, towering! This God set things right for me and shut up the people who talked back. He rescued me from enemy anger, he pulled me from the grip of upstarts, He saved me from the bullies.
That’s why I’m thanking you, God, all over the world. That’s why I’m singing songs that rhyme your name. God’s king takes the trophy; God’s chosen is beloved. I mean David and all his children— always.” (Psalm 18)
“Listen to me, my people; pay attention to me, my nation. For I release my teaching to the nations, and I will cause the light of justice to rest on them. 5 My righteousness is coming closer, and my salvation has gone out. This message of hope it’s to remind you that, no matter what you are going through or how bad can seems the scenario, God is still in control!
He sees you. He sees us in the middle of our pain and chaos!
Cry out to Him and He’ll come through for you. His mercy and forgiveness is always available to us! We don’t need to sink in despair.
We have a Father watching over us, day and night, ready to save!
“Praise, honor, glory, and dominion be to God-Enthroned and to Christ the Lamb forever and ever!”

Clame a Ele e Ele virá em seu auxílio! Sua misericórdia e perdão estão sempre disponíveis para nós! Não precisamos afundar em desespero.
Temos um Pai cuidando de nós, dia e noite, pronto para salvar!

This week, reading through the Scriptures in I Samuel, I learned a great lesson, in the chapters 4-6:
Israel was sinning again. The Eli’s family had no respect with God’s temple and laws, so the Ark was stolen by the Philistines. At the same time, Eli and his sons died, all in the same day.
The Ark went to Ashdod, causing a massive death between the Philistines with a plague of tumors and rats! Two cities was devastaded by the Presence of God. When they was moving the Ark to the third city, Ekron, they finally understood what was happening:
“So they sent the Chest of God on to Ekron, but as the Chest was being brought into town, the people shouted in protest, “You’ll kill us all by bringing in this Chest of the God of Israel!” They called the Philistine leaders together and demanded, “Get it out of here, this Chest of the God of Israel. Send it back where it came from. We’re threatened with mass death!” For everyone was scared to death when the Chest of God showed up. God was already coming down very hard on the place. Those who didn’t die were hit with tumors. All over the city cries of pain and lament filled the air.“
They decided to take the Ark back to the israelites,. However, not only they sent it back but they also decided to sent a guilt offering to them! So God could leave them in peace.
“They said, “If you’re going to send the Chest of the God of Israel back, don’t just dump it on them. Pay compensation. Then you will be healed. After you’re in the clear again, God will let up on you. Why wouldn’t he?” And what exactly would make for adequate compensation?”
“Five gold tumors and five gold rats,” they said, “to match the number of Philistine leaders. Since all of you—leaders and people—suffered the same plague, make replicas of the tumors and rats that are devastating the country and present them as an offering to the glory of the God of Israel.”
There are some lessons we can take out of this passages:
1. Sometimes the Presence of God feels distant. However, even in those moments, He is working on our behalf, bringing good things into our lives.
2. God can always teach us a lesson through our mistakes. Everything we do has consequences, and God let us deal with it.
3. Even when we do something wrong and have to deal with it, God is merciful, his forgiveness is always available!
4. After a tough season, where we have a lesson to learn, God restores us and gives us more than we were expecting! Even when it seems that the situation is lost, He is working in our favor!
5. God will fight against our enemies for us and teach us a lesson at the same time! Because a loving father always corrects his children!
Don’t be discouraged if you are facing a difficult season! God is training you or maybe correcting you, so you can be ready to receive all his promises!
Even when His Presence seems distant, he is there, with you! He can hear you, so keep praying and trusting that He is faithful and will change your situation, taking something good from all the harm you may be facing right now!
Nothing is impossible with Him. He is the God of hope and restoration!
I love you, God— you make me strong. God is bedrock under my feet, the castle in which I live, my rescuing knight. My God—the high crag where I run for dear life, hiding behind the boulders, safe in the granite hideout.
I sing to God, the Praise-Lofty, and find myself safe and saved.

A hostile world! I call to God, I cry to God to help me. From his palace he hears my call; my cry brings me right into his presence— a private audience!
But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out Of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!
God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I got my act together, he gave me a fresh start. Now I’m alert to God’s ways; I don’t take God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works; I try not to miss a trick.I feel put back together, and I’m watching my step. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.“(…)

“Um pai amoroso corrige seus filhos!”
Ei você! Como estão as coisas por aí?
Esta semana, passeando pelas Escrituras em I Samuel, eu aprendi uma ótima lição nos capítulos 4-6:
Israel estava pecando novamente. A família de Eli não respeitava o templo e as leis de Deus, então a Arca foi roubada pelos filisteus. Ao mesmo tempo, Eli e seus filhos morreram, todos no mesmo dia.
A Arca foi para Asdode, causando uma morte massiva entre os filisteus com uma praga de tumores e ratos! Duas cidades foram devastadas, e quando eles estavam movendo a Arca para a terceira cidade, Ekron, eles finalmente compreenderam o que estava acontecendo:
“Então, eles enviaram a arca de Deus para Ekron, mas quando a arca estava sendo trazida para a cidade, as pessoas gritaram em protesto:” Você vai matar todos nós trazendo esta arca do Deus de Israel! ” Eles reuniram os líderes filisteus e exigiram: “Tire-o daqui, esta arca do Deus de Israel. Mande-o de volta de onde veio. Estamos ameaçados de morte em massa!” Pois todos morreram de medo quando a arca de Deus apareceu. Deus já estava caindo com força no lugar. Aqueles que não morreram foram atingidos por tumores. Por toda a cidade, gritos de dor e lamento encheram o ar. “
Eles decidiram levar a Arca de volta aos israelitas. Porém, eles não apenas a enviaram de volta, mas também enviaram uma oferta pela culpa! E assim, Deus os deixaria em paz.
“Eles disseram:“ Se você vai mandar a arca do Deus de Israel de volta, não jogue sobre eles. Pague uma compensação. Então você será curado. Depois que estiver limpo novamente, Deus vai desistir de você. Por que ele não iria? ” E o que exatamente seria uma compensação adequada? ” “Cinco tumores de ouro e cinco ratos de ouro”, disseram, “para igualar o número de líderes filisteus. Já que todos vocês – líderes e povo – sofreram a mesma praga, faça réplicas dos tumores e ratos que estão devastando o país e apresente-os como uma oferta à glória do Deus de Israel. “
Há lições que podemos aprender com essa passagem:
Às vezes, a Presença de Deus parece distante. Porém, mesmo nesses momentos, Ele está trabalhando em nosso favor, para fazer o melhor em nossas vidas.
Deus sempre pode nos ensinar uma lição por meio de nossos erros. Tudo o que fazemos tem consequências, e Deus permite que lidemos com isso.
Mesmo quando fazemos algo errado e temos que lidar com isso, Deus é misericordioso, seu perdão está sempre disponível!
Depois de um período difícil, em que temos que aprender uma lição, Deus nos restaura e nos dá mais do que esperávamos! Mesmo quando parece que a situação está perdida, Ele está trabalhando a nosso favor!
Deus lutará por nós, contra nossos inimigos, e nos ensinará uma lição ao mesmo tempo. Porque um pai amoroso sempre corrige seus filhos!
Não desanime se você estiver enfrentando uma temporada difícil! Deus está treinando você ou talvez Ele esteja te corrigindo, para que no momento certo, você esteja pronto para receber todas as Suas promessas!
Mesmo quando Sua Presença parece distante, Ele está aí, com você! Ele pode ouvi-lo, então continue orando e confiando que Ele é fiel e mudará sua situação, tirando algo de bom de todo o mal que você pode estar enfrentando agora!
Nada é impossível para Ele. Ele é o Deus da esperança e restauração!
“Eu amo a Deus- Ele me faz forte. Deus me mantem firme sobre meus pés, Ele é o castelo em que moro, meu cavaleiro resgatador. Meu Deus – o penhasco alto onde eu corro para salvar minha vida, escondendo-se atrás das pedras, seguro no esconderijo de granito. Eu canto para ti, Ó Deus Todo-Poderoso! e me encontro seguro e salvo. (…)
Um mundo hostil! Eu chamo a Deus, Eu clamo a Deus para me ajudar. De seu palácio ele ouve meu chamado; meu grito me traz direto para sua presença – uma audiência particular! Ele me pegou – alcançou todo o caminho do céu ao mar; ele me puxou para fora Desse oceano de ódio, desse caos inimigo, o vazio em que estava me afogando. Eles me bateram quando eu estava no chão, mas Deus ficou comigo. Ele me colocou em um campo aberto; Fiquei ali salvo – surpreso por ser amado! Deus fez minha vida completa quando coloquei todas as peças diante dele. Quando eu comecei a caminhar, ele me deu um novo começo. Agora estou alerta para os caminhos de Deus; Eu não subestimo a Deus. Todos os dias eu reflito na maneira como ele trabalha; Tento não perder os sinais. Eu me sinto recomposto, e estou observando meus passos. Have you ever asked yourself or catch yourself thinking: “Isn’t love a feeling?!”
In times of confusion, relativism and redefinition of truth, I want to bring a reflection about what is LOVE, under bible’s light!
In I Corinthians 13, Paul’s brings to us this reflection about what is love, based on the life that Jesus lived among us:
“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”
As followers of Christ, we have a model to follow! He gave us a lot of examples of what love is! Not a feeling at all, but instead, a decision! And if I would have to pick just one example of what Jesus did for us to show what is love, I would say: Sacrifice!
The pattern of love outside of Christ says that “love is a feeling that makes you feel good and benefits you somehow” and when this feeling is gone, it’s because “the love is over”. Actually, according to the bible, it’s when the feeling is gone toward another person or when you don’t have any to begin with, that’s when the real love begins! ( Ask anyone who has a long journey as a married person, if love is a “feeling”. I would risk to say that this person would laugh!)
Love is a decision to act on another person’s benefit. It could be a spouse, a son or daughter, parents,friends or even a stranger! It’s when we decide to deny our own will and even our well-being to take care of another person, ensuring their well- being first!
It is not an easy task! We will make a lot of mistakes along the way to learn that! To love another person as God loves you, actually you need to really experience His love for you!
It is easy to say: “God loves me”, but it’s only when we deeply know His love for us, seeing it in our own lives, that we are able to extend this love for another person! I had to find it out in my own life!
I had a hard time trying to love and care about others, when I didn’t even loved myself and I didn’t feel loved as well!
However, when I opened my heart to Jesus and allowed Him to healed me and fill me with His love, my heart started to change toward people. I could feel His love for others and then, I started to change, to care more about people’s needs!
It is a journey, you know. Learn how to love well has ups and downs and, you going to fail sometimes! I still have hard times and selfish moments.
The good news is: His love never fails! He will teach how to love yourself and how to love others in a natural and selfless way!
In the middle of this confused world, that says that everything is “love” accorrding to their definition, be corageuos and decide to swin against the tide! Be bold in love and ask for discerniment and kindness to love well, God can help you!
“Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part,but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.”
There are a few things that I’ve learned with this whole passage of I Corinthians 13:
-Jesus is the personification of love! Everything He did, said and showed to us, reflects a perfect love, that we are called to imitate!
-Love is not a feeling, it’s a decision translated into ACTION! And we are called to love others as we love ourselves!
-It is essential to experience the love of God! If you never did, ask Him to show you His love for you! Only then you will be able to love others as you supposed to!
-Love never fails! When we love out of this place in Christ, the outcome is always good, even when we can’t realize right away!
-Perfection is only found in Jesus! So when we get out of the way and let Him lead us, our imperfection to love is hidden in His perfection!
-Love is based on TRUTH! While the world says that every sense of love can’t be evil, because “it’s love”, we have a model to follow! We are called to love in His ways, based on His Word!
-Love never gives up! Jesus loves us beyond measure, despite of our sins and flaws! He never gives up on us. He also invites us to never give up on His plans and people!
I hope this post brings to you some clarity and perseverance to love well! Don’t give up, keep trusting Him to show you how!
Você já se perguntou ou já se pegou pensando: “Mas, o amor não é um sentimento?!”
Em tempos de confusão, relativismo e redefinição da verdade, quero trazer uma reflexão sobre o que é AMOR, sob a luz da Bíblia!
Em I Coríntios 13, Paulo nos traz esta reflexão sobre o que é amor, a partir da vida que Jesus viveu entre nós:
“O amor é paciente, o amor é gentil. Não inveja, não se vangloria, não é orgulhoso. Não desonra os outros, não é egoísta, não se irrita facilmente, não mantém um registro de erros. O amor não se deleita com o mal, mas se alegra com a verdade. Ele sempre protege, sempre confia, sempre espera, sempre persevera. “
Como seguidores de Cristo, temos um modelo a seguir! Ele nos deu muitos exemplos do que é o amor! Não é um sentimento, mas sim uma decisão! E se eu tivesse que escolher apenas um exemplo do que Jesus fez por nós para mostrar o que é amor, eu diria: Sacrifício!
O padrão de amor fora de Cristo diz que “o amor é um sentimento que faz você se sentir bem e o beneficia de alguma forma” e quando esse sentimento passa, é porque “o amor acabou”.
Na verdade, de acordo com a bíblia, é quando o sentimento some ou quando você não tem nenhum sentimento para começo de conversa, que começa o verdadeiro amor! (Pergunte a qualquer pessoa que está na longa jornada do casamento, se o amor é um “sentimento”. Eu arriscaria dizer que essa pessoa riria na sua cara!)
O amor é uma decisão de agir em benefício de outra pessoa. Pode ser seu cônjuge, filho ou filha, pais, amigos ou até mesmo um estranho! É quando decidimos negar a nossa própria vontade e até o nosso bem-estar para cuidar de outra pessoa, garantindo primeiro o bem-estar dela!
Não é fácil! Vamos cometer muitos erros ao longo do caminho para aprender isso! Para amar outra pessoa como Deus te ama, na verdade, você precisa realmente experimentar o amor Dele por você!
É fácil dizer: “Deus me ama”, mas é apenas quando conhecemos profundamente Seu amor por nós, vendo isso em nossas próprias vidas, que somos capazes de estender esse amor pra outra pessoa! Tive que descobrir isso na minha própria vida!
Eu tive muita dificuldade tentando amar e cuidar dos outros, quando nem eu mesma me amava e não me sentia amada!
No entanto, quando eu abri meu coração para Jesus e permiti que Ele me curasse e me enchesse com Seu amor, meu coração começou a mudar em relação às pessoas. Pude sentir Seu amor pelos outros e então comecei a agir diferente, a me preocupar mais com as necessidades delas!
É uma jornada, você sabe. Aprender a amar bem tem seus altos e baixos e, você vai falhar às vezes. Eu ainda tenho momentos difíceis, momentos egoístas!
A boa notícia é: Seu amor nunca falha! Ele vai te ensinar como amar a si mesmo e como amar os outros de uma forma natural e altruísta!
No meio desse mundo confuso, que diz que tudo é “amor” segundo sua própria definição, seja corajoso e decida nadar contra a maré! Seja ousado no amor e peça discernimento e bondade para amar bem, Deus quer te ajudar!
“O amor nunca falha. Mas onde há profecias, elas cessarão; onde houver línguas, elas serão acalmadas; onde houver conhecimento, passará. Pois sabemos em parte e profetizamos em parte, mas quando chegar a perfeição, o que é imperfeito desaparecerá.”
Há algumas coisas que aprendi nesta passagem de I Coríntios 13:
– Jesus é a personificação do amor! Tudo o que Ele fez, disse e nos mostrou, reflete um amor perfeito, que somos chamados a imitar!
– O amor não é um sentimento, é uma decisão traduzida em AÇÃO! E somos chamados a amar os outros como amamos a nós mesmos!
– É essencial experimentar o amor de Deus! Se você nunca fez isso, peça a Ele para mostrar Seu amor por você! Só então você será capaz de amar os outros como deveria!
– O amor nunca falha! Quando amamos a partir deste lugar em Cristo, o resultado é sempre bom, mesmo quando não percebemos imediatamente!
– A perfeição só é encontrada em Jesus! Então, quando saímos do caminho e deixamos que Ele nos lidere, nossa imperfeição para amar é encoberta pela perfeição Dele!
– O amor se baseia na VERDADE! Enquanto o mundo diz que qualquer “sentimento de amor” não pode ser mau, porque “é amor”, temos um modelo a seguir! Somos chamados a amar à maneira de Cristo, baseados na Sua Palavra!
– O amor nunca desiste! Jesus nos ama além de qualquer medida, apesar de nossos pecados e falhas! Ele nunca desiste de nós. Ele também nos convida a nunca desistir de Seus planos e das pessoas!
