I am loved!

Hey guys!

Inspired by the “I am” course, by MessengerX, I decided to share here some of the knowledge and insights I got from this class today! Enjoy =)

“I am loved, so I love wihout reservation!”

The love of God it is a Father’s kind of love, that we can’t learn from other’s teachings. It is an amazing gift that we have to receive and experience by ourselves!

As for me, I can say that, it was on my hardest moments that I could taste and experience how powerful and deep is His love for me! It is when I am feeling weak, hopeless, tired and confused, that I easily allow myself to open my heart and receive the sustaining and comforting Love, that keeps me going!

I don’t need to surrender to those feelings and give up. I have the opportunity to face another day, under God’s light! I am daily strengthen by His Presence!

When we trully understand that we are loved by our heavenly Father, and more, that we were created BY LOVE to BE LOVED, then we can love from a place of rest and confidence: No matter the outcomimg, we already carry the perfect Love inside of us! We are called to live from( a place of) love, not for love. So we can say: “I am loved, so I love without reservation!”

It is not about “what can I do for God?”( so I can earn His love) but, instead, “what God already done for me?” So we can embrace the truth that He loved us so much that He gave His only Son, to pay for our sins and reconnect us to His love and presence! We can love from a place of rest and security in Him!

We are only able to believe and trust God when we know, deep inside, with all our hearts and minds, that we are loved!

People that had been hurted have difficulty to believe in God because they does not believe that they are trully loved by Him! So let me say that clearly: No matter what you went through, what you did or what people did to you, God loves you very much and His arms are opened for you!

Love…believes all things!”

Love believes in the best of others, in the best long-term outcome. There is no disappointment in God’s perfect love! When we carry this love, we encourage and expects the best, even when things don’t goes our way! Because we know that in the end “all things cooperate for the goodness of those who loves God! (Who loves us back).

“So don’t be afraid: I’m with you.
    I’ll round up all your scattered children,
    pull them in from east and west.
I’ll send orders north and south:
    ‘Send them back.
Return my sons from distant lands,
    my daughters from faraway places.
I want them back, every last one who bears my name,
    every man, woman, and child
Whom I created for my glory,
    yes, personally formed and made each one.
(Isaiah 43:7)

I am PROTECTED by the truth that nothing can escape the reach of my Father’s love!”

Like I said before, when we realize that we are trully loved, we can be our true selves and act from this place of rest and confidence, free from the fear of failure and rejection. Because, no matter the outcome, things are working for the good of the sons and daughters of God! We are surrounded by this Love that can reach, heal and change everything: circumstances, minds,hearts, people!

Living from this place of imeasurable love it is a learning process! Don’t be in such a hurry! Take one step at the time, truSting that God will come for you, every time! And day after day, you will see and experience His faithfulness and care, in the most detailed and amazing ways!

Surrender all your fears, worries,plans and dreams to Him and let this process begins! You will never regret of trusting God’s Love!

We know only a portion of the truth, and what we say about God is always incomplete. But when the Complete arrives, our incompletes will be canceled.” (1 Corinthinas 13: 4-8)

Eu sou amado!

Ei pessoal! Como vocês estão?

Inspirada pelo curso “ I am” (Eu sou!) do MessengerX , decidi compartilhar aqui algumas percepções e encorajamento que eu recebi dessa aula hoje! Aproveite =)

“Eu sou amado, então eu amo sem reservas!”

O amor de Deus é o tipo de amor de Pai, que não podemos aprender com os ensinamentos dos outros. É um presente incrível que devemos aceitar e experimentar por nós mesmos!

Quanto a mim, eu posso dizer que foi nos meus momentos mais difíceis que pude provar e experimentar o quão poderoso e profundo é o Seu amor por mim! É quando me sinto fraca, sem esperança, cansada e confusa, que mais facilmente me permito abrir meu coração e receber o Amor que me sustenta e conforta, que me faz continuar!

Eu não preciso me render a esses sentimentos e desistir. Tenho a oportunidade de enfrentar mais um dia, sob a luz do amor reconfortante de Deus! Eu sou fortalecida diariamente por Sua Presença!

Quando realmente entendemos que somos amados pelo nosso Pai celestial, e mais, que fomos criados PELO AMOR para SERMOS AMADOS, então podemos amar de um lugar de descanso e confiança: Não importa o resultado, já carregamos o Amor perfeito dentro de nós! Somos chamados pra viver de (um lugar de) pleno amor, não para receber amor. Portanto, podemos dizer: “Eu sou amado, então eu amo sem reservas!”

Não se trata de “o que posso fazer pra Deus?” (para merecer Seu amor), mas em vez disso, “o que Deus já fez por mim?” Para que possamos abraçar a verdade de que Ele nos amou tanto que deu Seu único Filho, para pagar por nossos pecados e nos reconectar ao Seu amor e Presença! Podemos amar de um lugar de descanso e segurança Nele!

Só podemos acreditar e confiar em Deus quando sabemos, verdadeiramente, com todo o nosso coração e mente, que somos amados!

Pessoas que foram feridas têm dificuldades em acreditar em Deus, porque não acreditam que são verdadeiramente amadas por Ele! Então, deixe-me dizer isso claramente: Não importa o que você passou, o que você fez ou o que as pessoas fizeram com você, Deus o ama muito e Seus braços estão abertos para você!

O amor…acredita em todas as coisas!”

O amor acredita no melhor dos outros, no melhor resultado a longo prazo. Não há decepção no perfeito amor de Deus! Quando carregamos este amor, encorajamos e esperamos o melhor, mesmo quando as coisas não acontecem do nosso jeito! Porque sabemos que no final “todas as coisas cooperam para o bem daqueles que amam a Deus! (Que nos ama de volta=).

“Não tenha medo,
 pois eu estou com você,
do oriente trarei seus filhos
e do ocidente ajuntarei você.
Direi ao norte: Entregue-os!
e ao sul: Não os retenha.
De longe tragam os meus filhos,
 e dos confins da terra as minhas filhas;
7todo o que é chamado pelo meu nome,
 a quem criei para a minha glória,
 a quem formei e fiz”.
(Isaías 43:7)

“Eu sou PROTEGIDO(A) pela verdade de que nada pode escapar do alcance do amor do meu Pai!”

Como eu disse antes, quando percebemos que somos verdadeiramente amados, podemos ser nós mesmos e agir a partir desse lugar de descanso e confiança, livres do medo do fracasso e da rejeição! Porque, não importa o resultado, as coisas estarão trabalhando para o bem dos filhos e filhas de Deus! Estamos rodeados por este Amor que pode alcançar, curar e mudar tudo: circunstâncias, mentes, corações, pessoas!

Viver desse lugar de amor imensurável é um processo de aprendizagem! Não tenha tanta pressa! Dê um passo de cada vez, percebendo que Deus virá ao seu encontro, todas as vezes! E dia após dia, você verá e experimentará Sua fidelidade e cuidado, das formas mais detalhadas e surpreendentes possíveis!

Entregue todos os seus medos, preocupações, planos e sonhos a Ele e deixe este processo começar! Você nunca se arrependerá de confiar no amor de Deus!

Tenha um excelente dia, cercado pelo amor do seu Pai! Até.

“O amor é paciente, o amor é bondoso. Não inveja, não se vangloria, não se orgulha. Não maltrata, não procura seus interesses, não se ira facilmente, não guarda rancor. O amor não se alegra com a injustiça, mas se alegra com a verdade. Tudo sofre, tudo crê, tudo espera, tudo suporta. O amor nunca perece; mas as profecias desaparecerão, as línguas cessarão, o conhecimento passará.  Pois em parte conhecemos e em parte profetizamos; quando, porém, vier o que é perfeito, o que é imperfeito desaparecerá.” (I Coríntios 13)

Joy like an overflowing river!

I’ve loved you the way my Father has loved me. Make yourselves at home in my love. If you remain intimately at home in my love, you’ll keep my commands. That’s what I’ve done—kept my Father’s commands and made myself at home in his love.” (John 15:9-10)

You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.(John 15:16)

 “But remember the root command: Love one another.” (John 15:17)

“When a woman gives birth, she has a hard time, there’s no getting around it. But when the baby is born, there is joy in the birth. This new life in the world wipes out memory of the pain. The sadness you have right now is similar to that pain, but the coming joy is also similar. When I see you again, you’ll be full of joy, and it will be a joy no one can rob from you. You’ll no longer be so full of questions.” (John 16:21-23)

Today I want to share what I read in my devotional time with you!

What can we take from this amazing affirmations?!

-Jesus has LOVED US first! Before we make a move, before we were even born, through His love we were created to be His and bear good fruit, fulfilling the purpose He has for us! It is not something we achieved by an effort, but a free gift from above!

-He choses us, not the other way around! The only thing we have to do it’s to say YES! Yes to this amazing and trnasforming love that set us free from all bondage. We are sons and daughters of God, part and representatives of and unshakable kingdom. Halleluiah!

-All the suffering we may face in our lives for a while, can’t be compared to the amazing gifts that Jesus has for us! Nothing that we can ask or imagine can be so good as what God has already set apart for us: His children. We have an eternal gift and that will be revealed not only after this life, but it is being unveiled as we walk with Him, in intimacy!

-All that God asks from us is just to believe! “Just believe what I say to you! Embrace the truth of my promises and remain in my comforting love for you. Only when you remain in Me, you can see the changes you want for your life. I am always faithful for those who remain in my love!

The extravagant love of God!

Hey there!

Isn’t amazing how some (great)songs can carry us through memories and feelings?! I don’t know about you but, I need a good playlist to go through my day! Music is like fuel for me, it really energizes me and change the atmosphere of my day, everytime!

That’s why I decided to talk about sometging that may look so obvious, yet so underrated: The extravagant love of God for us!

I know, you probably heard before about how much God loves you, right?! However, I want to encourage you not to absorb it with your mind, because if you are a Christian, you already know that!

We all know John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him!”

To be honest, even that I have always believed in the truth of the Cross, I found out years later that I spent my whole childhood believing that with my mind, not with my heart!

The love of God ins’t something we can be taught to believe. To be a reality in our lives, deep rooted in our heart, we need to experience it by ourselves! We need to feel the love of God in our bones, burning deep inside of us!

So today, I decided to write about it, so you can bring to your mind your own experiences with Him! Even knowing that the highest demonstration of love was made on the cross for us, it’s more real when it became personal, when we can perceive it in our own lives, in great and also in the ordinary things!

While I was listened to this song about the love of God, I began to remember episodes of my life when His love became trully real for me! For example: When I was in Nepal with a bunch of people I din’t know, feeling an outsider, being attacked in my mind with all kind of lies, the love of God comforted me and carried me through! I never thought I’d survive until the end of that experience, but I did! He was there with me, all the time!

When I went through the darkest seasons of my life, Jesus was always there, remembering me that I was strong enough to finish the challenge, that I was more capable that I could realize in that moment! He was carrying me on His arms when I was to tired to walk on my own!

Every time people tried to “take me out of the scene” or harm me, He was there to guarantee that I would go through the whole proccess, that I would not give up because of the pressure people were putting over me!

When I feel lonely, isolated, weak and overhelmed, I bring to my mind that I am not alone at all! He is right here by my side, drying all my tears and cheering me up, making me laugh and have hope in the future!

When fear of the future wants to take place or when I am too fraid to take risks, He strengthen me with His sweet Presence, giving me words of love! He is giving me new memories and restoring all the places of shame in my life.

Only His love can do that!

No one can teach your heart that you are loved by God, only Him! You need to dive in, you need to drink from it untill you feel overflowing with His Presence! It is a unique and personal experience between you and your Father!

I want to inspire you to go through this amazing experience with Him! If you never experienced the love of God in a conscious way, talk to Him! You can be really honest about it!

Pray that God will break the barrers inside your heart, open your spiritual eyes so you can see and realize how much He loves you! Not in a theorical and abstract way, He loves you in practical and meaninful ways, every day!

Every time He delivers you from a tough situation(Or helped you to go through it!), when He gave you peace in the middle of chaos; When you are feeling down and He embraces you and give you comfort, making you feel worthy of love, strong in who you are through His eyes!

He is the One who brings to our minds the plans He has for us: Plans to give us hope and the future we long for!

So today, my friend, I just pray that “you, being rooted and established in love,  may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.”

I believe that God will teach you that, in a beautiful, practical and soft way! So your heart can be heal from all the pain you may be carrying inside!

God is rewriting our story!

O extravagante amor de Deus!

Olá querido leitor! Como você está? Espero que bem!

Não é incrível como certas músicas podem nos transportar para memórias e sentimentos?! Eu não sei você, mas eu preciso de uma boa playlist para passar o meu dia bem! A música é como um combustível para mim, ela realmente me energiza e muda a atmosfera do meu dia, todas as vezes!

É por isso que hoje eu decidi falar sobre algo que pode parecer tão óbvio, mas ao mesmo tempo, tão subestimado: O extravagante amor de Deus por nós!

Eu sei, você provavelmente já ouviu falar sobre o quanto Deus o ama, certo?! No entanto, quero encorajá-lo a não absorver isso com sua mente, porque se você é cristão, você já sabe disso!

Todos nós(ou a maioria de nós) conhecemos João 3: 16-17 “ “Porque Deus tanto amou o mundo que deu o seu Filho Unigênito[d], para que todo o que nele crer não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna. 17 Pois Deus enviou o seu Filho ao mundo, não para condenar o mundo, mas para que este fosse salvo por meio dele.”

Para ser honesta, eu sempre acreditei na verdade da Cruz, mas eu descobri anos depois que passei minha infância inteira acreditando nisso com minha mente, não com meu coração!

O amor de Deus não é algo que possamos ensinar as pessoas a acreditar. Para ser uma realidade em sua vida, profundamente enraizada em seu coração, você precisa experimentá-lo! Você precisa sentir o amor de Deus em seus ossos, queimando bem no fundo.

Então hoje, eu decidi escrever sobre isso, para que você possa trazer à sua mente suas próprias experiências com Ele! Mesmo sabendo que a mais alta demonstração de amor foi feita por nós na cruz, ela é ainda mais real quando se torna pessoal, quando podemos perceber esse amor em nossas próprias vidas, nas coisas extraordinárias e também nas coisas comuns!

Enquanto eu ouvia essa música sobre o amor de Deus, comecei a me lembrar de episódios da minha vida em que Seu amor se tornou verdadeiramente real por mim!

Por exemplo: Quando eu estava no Nepal com um monte de gente que eu não conhecia, me sentindo um peixe fora d’água, sendo atacada na minha mente com todo tipo de mentira, o amor de Deus me confortou e me carregou! Nunca pensei que sobreviveria até o fim dessa experiência, mas eu sobrevivi! Ele estava lá comigo, o tempo todo!

Quando eu passei pelas épocas mais sombrias da minha vida, Jesus esteve sempre lá, lembrando-me que eu era forte o suficiente para terminar o desafio, que eu era mais capaz do que podia perceber naquele momento! E Ele me carregou nos braços quando eu estava cansada demais pra andar sozinha!

Cada vez que as pessoas tentavam “me tirar de cena” ou me machucar, Ele estava lá para garantir que eu passaria por todo o processo, que eu não desistira por causa da pressão que as pessoas estavam colocando sobre mim!

Quando me sinto solitária, isolada, fraca ou sobrecarregada, eu lembro que não estou sozinha em nenhum momento! Ele está bem aqui ao meu lado, enxugando todas as minhas lágrimas e me animando, me fazendo rir e me dando esperanças pro futuro!

Quando o medo do futuro quer me dominar ou quando estou me sentindo intimidada, com medo de correr riscos, Ele me fortalece com Sua doce Presença, enchendo-me palavras de amor! Ele está me dando novas memórias e restaurando todos os lugares de vergonha da minha vida! Somente o Seu amor pode fazer isso!

​​Ninguém pode ensinar seu coração a verdade de que você é amado, somente Ele! Você precisa mergulhar fundo, você precisa beber Dele até se sentir transbordando com a Sua Presença! É uma experiência única e pessoal entre você e seu Pai!

Então hoje, eu quero te inspirar a mergulhar nessa experiência transformadora com Ele! Se você nunca experimentou o amor de Deus de forma consciente, converse com Ele sobre isso, sem medo! Você pode (e deve)ser muito honesto sobre isso!

Ore para que Deus quebre as barreiras do seu coração e abra seus olhos espirituais para que você possa sentir e perceber o quanto Ele te ama! Não de uma forma teórica e abstrata, Ele te ama de maneira prática e significativa, todos os dias!

Cada vez que Ele o livra de uma situação difícil,(ou te fortalece pra passar por ela!); quando Ele te dá paz em meio do caos; Quando você está se sentindo pra baixo e Ele te abraça e te consola, fazendo você se sentir digno de amor, forte em quem você é através dos olhos Dele!

Ele é quem traz à nossa mente os planos que tem para nós: planos de nos dar esperança e o futuro que almejamos!

Então, hoje, meu amigo, eu apenas oro por você, para que “com as suas gloriosas riquezas, ele os fortaleça no íntimo do seu ser com poder, por meio do seu Espírito, para que Cristo habite no coração de vocês mediante a fé; e oro para que, estando arraigados e alicerçados em amor, vocês possam, juntamente com todos os santos, compreender a largura, o comprimento, a altura e a profundidade, e conhecer o amor de Cristo que excede todo conhecimento, para que vocês sejam cheios de toda a plenitude de Deus!”

Eu acredito que Deus vai te ensinar isso, de uma forma linda, prática e suave! Assim, seu coração será curado de toda a dor que você pode estar carregando por dentro!

Deus está reescrevendo nossa história! Alegre-se nessa verdade =)

The hero instinct

Hey friends! How are you doing?

Have you ever heard about the “Hero instinct”? Well, I had never heard about it, untill yesterday.

Scrolling through a blog I found here on WordPress, I started to read this article about this hero instinct that,supposedly, every man has.

Being very briefly, that concept says that every man has this need he needs to fulfill: Be a hero in someone’s life. He needs to feel necessary, indispensable. It’s a biological drive, even more stronger than sex drive (according to the text I read).

Anyways, I read it and I thought very interesting that God could put this kind of instinct on men( If you believe, like I do, that God created mankind). Thinking about it, I concluded that it was reasonable, because God made us His image and likeness!

So, my point is: When I thought more deeply about it, I found out that the reason man has this “hero instinct” it’s because that is part of God’s character! He also wants to be our hero!

Jesus died for us, so we could have a close and direct relationship with the Father. He did it out of an incomprehensible and amazing love.

A love so deep that we need to take a while just to start to understand it and, I believe that we just reach the surface when it comes to the love of God for us.

The whole bible declares His love and how He wants to be our hero! He wants to provide for us, guide us and take care of every issue of our lives! The only thing He asks for us is TRUST.

Trust that He loves us and have a good plan for us!Trust that His path is better that our paths, His ways better than our ways!

Everything that God did, since the beginning, was to show us what He really wants: He wants a deep relationship with us, He wants to be our father, our hero!

That involves a long journey, because to have a deep relationship, we need to know Him. We need to invest time and some effort, so we can let our ways and cpncepts go and just trust that He knows best! It is not easy to believe sometimes, I know.

But the beauty of this relationship is that God is PATIENT. He knows you better than anyone and that means He already know your flaws, emotional barriers and fears. He choose to loves us anyway, even when we reject Him!

I love this patient kind of love, that respects my time to process some things, that knows that I am going to fail, that I will feel discouraged. However, no matter how I try to give excuses to keep that love away, He is always available to me, to us!

Today I just want to leave you with this reflection: More than anyone, God wants to be your hero! He wants you to know Him and admire Him for what He is.

He is love and His arms are always open for us, no matter what we did or think about Him. He is kind and patient and He will teach us, who He trully is and how we must love! We just need to trust Him.

Gird your sword on your side, you mighty one;
    clothe yourself with splendor and majesty.
In your majesty ride forth victoriously
    in the cause of truth, humility and justice;
    let your right hand achieve awesome deeds.
Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king’s enemies;
    let the nations fall beneath your feet.

O Instinto heroico

Olá amigos! Como vocês estão?

Vocês já ouviram falar sobre “Instinto de herói”? Bem, eu nunca tinha ouvido falar disso, até ontem.

Percorrendo um blog que encontrei aqui no WordPress, comecei a ler este artigo sobre esse “instinto de herói” que, supostamente, todo homem tem.

Sendo bem breve, esse conceito diz que todo homem tem essa necessidade que precisa satisfazer, de ser um “herói” na vida de alguém. Ele precisa se sentir necessário, indispensável. É um impulso biológico, ainda mais forte do que o desejo sexual (de acordo com o texto que li).

De qualquer forma, eu li e achei muito interessante que Deus pudesse colocar esse tipo de instinto nos homens (se você acredita, como eu, que Deus criou a humanidade). Pensando nisso, concluí que era razoável, pois Deus nos fez a Sua imagem e semelhança!

Então, meu ponto é: Quando eu pensei mais profundamente sobre isso, descobri que a razão do homem ter esse “instinto de herói” é porque isso faz parte do caráter de Deus! Ele também quer ser nosso herói!

Jesus morreu por nós, para que pudéssemos ter um relacionamento próximo e direto com o Pai. Ele fez isso por amor, um amor incompreensível e surpreendente.

Um amor tão profundo que precisamos de um certo tempo para começar a entendê-lo e, acredito que chegamos apenas à superfície, quando se trata de entender o amor de Deus por nós.

A bíblia inteira declara Seu amor e como Ele quer ser nosso herói! (ou salvador, se você preferir). Ele quer nos sustentar, nos guiar e cuidar de todas as questões de nossas vidas! A única coisa que Ele pede de nós é CONFIANÇA.

Confiar que Ele nos ama e tem um bom plano para nós! Confiar que Seu caminho é melhor do que os nossos, Seus meios são melhores do que os nossos!

Tudo o que Deus fez, desde o início, foi para nos mostrar o que Ele realmente deseja: Ele deseja um relacionamento profundo conosco, Ele deseja ser nosso pai, nosso herói!

Isso envolve uma longa jornada, porque para ter um relacionamento profundo, precisamos conhecê-Lo. Precisamos investir tempo e algum esforço, para que sejamos capazes de deixar nossos caminhos e conceitos de lado e apenas confiar que Ele sabe o que é melhor! Não é fácil acreditar às vezes, eu sei.

Mas a beleza desse relacionamento é que Deus é PACIENTE. Ele conhece você melhor do que ninguém e isso significa que Ele já conhece suas falhas, barreiras emocionais e medos. Ele escolheu nos amar independente de qualquer coisa, mesmo quando o rejeitamos!

Eu amo esse amor paciente, que respeita meu tempo para processar algumas coisas, que sabe que vou falhar, que vou me sentir desanimada as vezes. No entanto, não importa o quanto eu tente dar desculpas para afastar esse amor, Ele está sempre disponível para mim, para nós!

Hoje eu só quero deixar vocês com esta reflexão: Mais do que qualquer um, Deus quer ser seu herói! Ele quer que você o conheça e o admire pelo que Ele é .

Ele é amor e Seus braços estão sempre abertos para nós, não importa o que fizemos ou pensamos sobre Ele. Ele é gentil e paciente e nos ensinará quem Ele realmente é e como devemos amá-lo. Só precisamos confiar Nele.

Coloque sua espada ao seu lado, poderoso;
vista-se com esplendor e majestade.
4 Em sua majestade, cavalgue vitoriosamente
no causa da verdade, humildade e justiça;
deixe sua mão direita realizar feitos impressionantes.
5 Deixe suas flechas afiadas perfurarem o coração dos inimigos do rei;
deixe as nações caírem abaixo seus pés.

Isn’t love a feeling?!

Hello friends!

Have you ever asked yourself or catch yourself thinking: “Isn’t love a feeling?!”

In times of confusion, relativism and redefinition of truth, I want to bring a reflection about what is LOVE, under bible’s light!

In I Corinthians 13, Paul’s brings to us this reflection about what is love, based on the life that Jesus lived among us:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

As followers of Christ, we have a model to follow! He gave us a lot of examples of what love is! Not a feeling at all, but instead, a decision! And if I would have to pick just one example of what Jesus did for us to show what is love, I would say: Sacrifice!

The pattern of love outside of Christ says that “love is a feeling that makes you feel good and benefits you somehow” and when this feeling is gone, it’s because “the love is over”. Actually, according to the bible, it’s when the feeling is gone toward another person or when you don’t have any to begin with, that’s when the real love begins! ( Ask anyone who has a long journey as a married person, if love is a “feeling”. I would risk to say that this person would laugh!)

Love is a decision to act on another person’s benefit. It could be a spouse, a son or daughter, parents,friends or even a stranger! It’s when we decide to deny our own will and even our well-being to take care of another person, ensuring their well- being first!

It is not an easy task! We will make a lot of mistakes along the way to learn that! To love another person as God loves you, actually you need to really experience His love for you!

It is easy to say: “God loves me”, but it’s only when we deeply know His love for us, seeing it in our own lives, that we are able to extend this love for another person! I had to find it out in my own life!

I had a hard time trying to love and care about others, when I didn’t even loved myself and I didn’t feel loved as well!

However, when I opened my heart to Jesus and allowed Him to healed me and fill me with His love, my heart started to change toward people. I could feel His love for others and then, I started to change, to care more about people’s needs!

It is a journey, you know. Learn how to love well has ups and downs and, you going to fail sometimes! I still have hard times and selfish moments.

The good news is: His love never fails! He will teach how to love yourself and how to love others in a natural and selfless way!

In the middle of this confused world, that says that everything is “love” accorrding to their definition, be corageuos and decide to swin against the tide! Be bold in love and ask for discerniment and kindness to love well, God can help you!

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.”

There are a few things that I’ve learned with this whole passage of I Corinthians 13:

-Jesus is the personification of love! Everything He did, said and showed to us, reflects a perfect love, that we are called to imitate!

-Love is not a feeling, it’s a decision translated into ACTION! And we are called to love others as we love ourselves!

-It is essential to experience the love of God! If you never did, ask Him to show you His love for you! Only then you will be able to love others as you supposed to!

-Love never fails! When we love out of this place in Christ, the outcome is always good, even when we can’t realize right away!

-Perfection is only found in Jesus! So when we get out of the way and let Him lead us, our imperfection to love is hidden in His perfection!

-Love is based on TRUTH! While the world says that every sense of love can’t be evil, because “it’s love”, we have a model to follow! We are called to love in His ways, based on His Word!

-Love never gives up! Jesus loves us beyond measure, despite of our sins and flaws! He never gives up on us. He also invites us to never give up on His plans and people!

I hope this post brings to you some clarity and perseverance to love well! Don’t give up, keep trusting Him to show you how!

Mas, o amor não é um sentimento?!

Olá amigos!

Você já se perguntou ou já se pegou pensando: “Mas, o amor não é um sentimento?!”

Em tempos de confusão, relativismo e redefinição da verdade, quero trazer uma reflexão sobre o que é AMOR, sob a luz da Bíblia!

Em I Coríntios 13, Paulo nos traz esta reflexão sobre o que é amor, a partir da vida que Jesus viveu entre nós:

O amor é paciente, o amor é gentil. Não inveja, não se vangloria, não é orgulhoso. Não desonra os outros, não é egoísta, não se irrita facilmente, não mantém um registro de erros. O amor não se deleita com o mal, mas se alegra com a verdade. Ele sempre protege, sempre confia, sempre espera, sempre persevera. “

Como seguidores de Cristo, temos um modelo a seguir! Ele nos deu muitos exemplos do que é o amor! Não é um sentimento, mas sim uma decisão! E se eu tivesse que escolher apenas um exemplo do que Jesus fez por nós para mostrar o que é amor, eu diria: Sacrifício!

O padrão de amor fora de Cristo diz que “o amor é um sentimento que faz você se sentir bem e o beneficia de alguma forma” e quando esse sentimento passa, é porque “o amor acabou”.

Na verdade, de acordo com a bíblia, é quando o sentimento some ou quando você não tem nenhum sentimento para começo de conversa, que começa o verdadeiro amor! (Pergunte a qualquer pessoa que está na longa jornada do casamento, se o amor é um “sentimento”. Eu arriscaria dizer que essa pessoa riria na sua cara!)

O amor é uma decisão de agir em benefício de outra pessoa. Pode ser seu cônjuge, filho ou filha, pais, amigos ou até mesmo um estranho! É quando decidimos negar a nossa própria vontade e até o nosso bem-estar para cuidar de outra pessoa, garantindo primeiro o bem-estar dela!

Não é fácil! Vamos cometer muitos erros ao longo do caminho para aprender isso! Para amar outra pessoa como Deus te ama, na verdade, você precisa realmente experimentar o amor Dele por você!

É fácil dizer: “Deus me ama”, mas é apenas quando conhecemos profundamente Seu amor por nós, vendo isso em nossas próprias vidas, que somos capazes de estender esse amor pra outra pessoa! Tive que descobrir isso na minha própria vida!

Eu tive muita dificuldade tentando amar e cuidar dos outros, quando nem eu mesma me amava e não me sentia amada!

No entanto, quando eu abri meu coração para Jesus e permiti que Ele me curasse e me enchesse com Seu amor, meu coração começou a mudar em relação às pessoas. Pude sentir Seu amor pelos outros e então comecei a agir diferente, a me preocupar mais com as necessidades delas!

É uma jornada, você sabe. Aprender a amar bem tem seus altos e baixos e, você vai falhar às vezes. Eu ainda tenho momentos difíceis, momentos egoístas!

A boa notícia é: Seu amor nunca falha! Ele vai te ensinar como amar a si mesmo e como amar os outros de uma forma natural e altruísta!

No meio desse mundo confuso, que diz que tudo é “amor” segundo sua própria definição, seja corajoso e decida nadar contra a maré! Seja ousado no amor e peça discernimento e bondade para amar bem, Deus quer te ajudar!

O amor nunca falha. Mas onde há profecias, elas cessarão; onde houver línguas, elas serão acalmadas; onde houver conhecimento, passará. Pois sabemos em parte e profetizamos em parte, mas quando chegar a perfeição, o que é imperfeito desaparecerá.”

Há algumas coisas que aprendi nesta passagem de I Coríntios 13:

– Jesus é a personificação do amor! Tudo o que Ele fez, disse e nos mostrou, reflete um amor perfeito, que somos chamados a imitar!

– O amor não é um sentimento, é uma decisão traduzida em AÇÃO! E somos chamados a amar os outros como amamos a nós mesmos!

– É essencial experimentar o amor de Deus! Se você nunca fez isso, peça a Ele para mostrar Seu amor por você! Só então você será capaz de amar os outros como deveria!

– O amor nunca falha! Quando amamos a partir deste lugar em Cristo, o resultado é sempre bom, mesmo quando não percebemos imediatamente!

– A perfeição só é encontrada em Jesus! Então, quando saímos do caminho e deixamos que Ele nos lidere, nossa imperfeição para amar é encoberta pela perfeição Dele!

– O amor se baseia na VERDADE! Enquanto o mundo diz que qualquer “sentimento de amor” não pode ser mau, porque “é amor”, temos um modelo a seguir! Somos chamados a amar à maneira de Cristo, baseados na Sua Palavra!

– O amor nunca desiste! Jesus nos ama além de qualquer medida, apesar de nossos pecados e falhas! Ele nunca desiste de nós. Ele também nos convida a nunca desistir de Seus planos e das pessoas!

Espero que este post traga para você alguma clareza e perseverança para amar bem! Não desista, continue confiando Nele para te ensinar como!

Come and drink!

“And in that day you will say, I will give thanks to You, O Lord; for though You were angry with me, Your anger has turned away, and You comfort me. Behold, God, my salvation! I will trust and not be afraid, for the Lord God is my strength and song; yes, He has become my salvation. Therefore with joy will you draw water from the wells of salvation. Today is the day we celebrate the day when those who was is the dark saw a great light! Those who were hungry could eat and those who were thirsty could drink, for FREE!

The God who became man and lived among us humblily, died and ressurrected, GLORIOUS!

He taught us the true meaning of Love: He gave His life away! Not only for his friends, but also for those who were enemies!

We did not deserve it but still, He chose to shed His blood for the sake of mankind and, through His death, brought light and HOPE to this fallen world!

Today we praise His ressurection! He was dead and has risen!

Thank you Jesus for your amazing and inimaginable SACRIFICE on the cross! Because through it, we have life and life in abundance! You came so we could have true LIFE and a PEACE that the world does not know. A peace that is not rooted in the circumstances!

Today,and every day, we PRAISE Him: the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE!

We were lost and now we are found. We were broken and He healed us. We were hopeless, hungry, dead inside and He gave us the waters that comes from the streams of life, directly from the Throne of God! Now we have life and a endless hope!

Thank you Jesus! You were always there for us and you are here today!(within us).

You are always available for those who truly SEEK YOU with an open heart!

We praise You Lord! And we shout in joy Your Holy Name!

Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost. Why spend money on what is not bread, and your labor on what does not satisfy? Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good, and you will delight in the richest of fare. The refreshing love of God!

The Lord is my best friend and my shepherd.                             I always have more than enough. He offers a resting place for me in his luxurious love.                          His tracks take me to an oasis of peace, the quiet brook of bliss.                                That’s where he restores and revives my life.               He opens before me pathways to God’s pleasure and leads me along in his footsteps of righteousness so that I can bring honor to his name.    Lord, even when your path takes me through the valley of deepest darkness, fear will never conquer me, for you already have!                 You remain close to me and lead me through it all the way.    Your authority is my strength and my peace.                                                   The comfort of your love takes away my fear.                 I’ll never be lonely, for you are near.                    You become my delicious feast even when my enemies dare to fight.                         You anoint me with the fragrance of your Holy Spirit; you give me all I can drink of you until my heart overflows.     So why would I fear the future? Hey friends!

Today I was convinced, by the powerful testimony of this amazing woman, Kim Walker-Smith, to go deeper(and also share here) into the amazing and immeasurable love of God for us!

As she shared her own story of brokeness and healing through this great book, “Brave Surrender”, I could identify myself with her experieces, and think more carefully about my owns.

Sometimes, it’s easy to look from the wrong perspective, the perspective of brokeness and pain, missing the perception of the amazing Love of God. However, when we overcome the struggles and look back, it’s astonishing what the healing Love of God can do and already did in our lives!

So today, I just want to inspire you to think about your personal journey through the experience of founding out the love of God, wich heals our hearts, reveals our strengths and helps us to go through situations that we didn’t imagine that we’d be capable to overcome!

Thank you Jesus, for loves us in such an amazing and powerful way . You never give up on us, You are the One that is always encouraging and helping us to keep walking, even more when the journey seems hopeless and we don’t believe ourselves! Thank you for all the the deliverance, healing and growth that your endless Love gave to our lives! We praise Your mighty name, Amen

“Who is this coming up from the wilderness leaning on her beloved?

Under the apple tree I roused you; there your mother conceived you, there she who was in labor gave you birth.

Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave.

It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot sweep it away. If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned. (Song of Songs 8:5‭-‬7 NIV)

Navigating singleness!

Hey there!

It’s been a while since God put in my heart this necessity to talk about singleness and what I’ve learned from it!

” but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.” Romans 5:3-5

I’ve always considered myself an emotional independent person. To be honest, I almost boast about it.

I never like this idea of being one of those “needy” people, who need someone to feel complete. I always saw myself more independent. However, independence has a good and a bad side.

But I not going to lie, since I gave my life to Jesus, I think about marriage. First because, since I am a Christian, this is the right way to have someone to share my life with. I can’t live in a way that I used to live in the past, just “having fun”, here and there.

Second, I know that despite of being a person who enjoy solitude and have learned how to enjoy her own company in a lot of ways, I still want someone to share my dreams and goals with, someone who has the same purpose as me: Live a life that honors God and reflects His will!

I have seen a lot of broken relationships, outside and inside the church, but since I am writing it through a godly perspective, let’s talk about the second group: Believers.

What God is showing me through all my journey is a real problem that is affecting the church:

People are turning marriage into an idol, thinking that all their emotional problens and needs will be fixed through it. And there are another group of people who just want to get marriage to have sex, never thinking about the others issues that involves this commitment!

One of the reasons for a broken relationship is: People get marriage to be happy!

Let me tell you something, that I heard from the mouth of my own sister in law: “If you want to get married to be happy, don’t do it!”( I laughed when she said it, but it’s true!)

First because, your happiness can’t be dependable of another person! If you are putting a lot of expectations on a person, to fill all your needs and make you happy, you gonna be disappointed! People fail on us all the time!

There are a lot of people out there, and I have to confess that I already thought like this, that is thinking “I will be happy when…”. They never enjoy the present or are grateful for what they already have. Ungratefulness is something that makes us walk in circles and poisoned our hearts!

Sacrifice thank offerings to God,
fulfill your vows to the Most High,
 and call on me in the day of trouble;
 I will deliver you, and you will honor me (…)
Those who sacrifice thank offerings honor me,
 and to the blameless[d] I will show my salvation.” Psalm 50: 14-15/23

Another reason for the failure of relationships: People believe that love is just a feeling! So when this feeling goes away, the relationship is ruined!

Love is way more than a feeling, love is a choice! But more than that, love is a person, Jesus! Only Him can teach you how to love and how to fight in the right way for a successful marriage! Choosing to love everyday, through every act and decision!

 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

If you want someone to put all your expectations on, this person is Jesus! He is the One who never fails on us, never promise something He can’t accomplish. He is always good, always faithful!

Our identity and satisfaction must be founded in Him, otherwise, everything we seek to fill our void will be a waste of time!

The first thing we need to figure out, to be happy in a relationship or any other area, is who we really are! Seek the answers in God, and in Him only!

In Him I found a lot of things that needed to be healed inside of me, to be rebuild! Through this relationship, God unmasked a lot of lies in my life, things that I carried for a long time!

I found out that I was looking to myself through glasses that other people put on me, using mean words! I was carrying labels like: Rebel, ruthless, selfish, heartless…

I heard that from family members, friends, Christian leaders and so on. And for a long time I believed that I was this person: Someone incapable of being kind or to love!

However, Jesus has a completely different opinion about me! He says that I am brave, strong, kind, lovely! He says that I am his princess, that I have a tender heart. And finally, I believe in Him!

But I know that I still am in a healing process, that I need this relationship with Him more than any one!

No man on this earth could give me what Jesus gives me, everyday, when I am spending time with Him.

He is the only one who knows what is going on, even when I can’t speak a word, just shed my tears!

He is the One that with one word can change my perspective and heal my heart, who can bring light and hope to my cloudy day! No other person could do that for me, the way He does!

So, what I want to say with all this is: It is ok to dream with a person to share a journey and dreams with you! We all need that!

We were created to live in community, through healthy relationships!

However, we need to be whole in Christ first, to be able to make another person happier, instead of wait to someone to complete us and make us happy!

Singleness is a season to know yourself, to grow in intimacy with God. To invest time and effort to discover who you are and what you are called for, to discover your purpose! Enjoy your process.

In the future you will be glad for spent this time wisely or you will regret for wasted it. You choose.

Marriage it’s a lifetime covenant! It involves commitment, sacrifice, hard work, partnership!

It is not a pre-cooked meal you can put on the microwave and wait just a few minutes to be ready!( by the way, I hate this kind of meal, who eats that?! lol)

Don’t be deceit: There is no easy way to happiness, you need to build up this road in partnership! It need to come from the inside first, not from outside conditions.

God wants to give us way more than we asked for, but we need to be mature, we need to be ready to receive. Otherwise, a blessing could turn into a curse very fast!

Find your peace and purpose in Him and everything else will come as consequence!

Do not be afraid; you will not be put to shame.
    Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.
You will forget the shame of your youth
    and remember no more the reproach of your widowhood.
For your Maker is your husband—
    the Lord Almighty is his name—
the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer;
    he is called the God of all the earth.
” Isaiah 54: 4-5

“Se que eu falasse as línguas dos homens e dos anjos, mas não tivesse amor…”

Hoje, eu passei por um episódio que já é meio comum na minha vida. Estava sentada com a minha filha ajudando-a com o dever de casa de matemática. E acabei ficando estressada.

Tudo começou quando ela errou um desenho que deveria ser a representação de um determinado ângulo e aí descobrimos que ela tinha perdido a borracha. Briguei com ela! “Filha, por que você sempre perde suas coisas? Você tem que ser mais cuidadosa com o seu material” (toda semana é alguma coisa do material que some).

Depois, ela começou a fazer os desenhos de forma desorganizada no caderno e reclamei de novo: “você tem que organizar o raciocínio! Ta tudo bagunçado, o professor não vai entender o que você fez”.

Isso acontece com freqüência quando sento pra fazer a lição com ela! Reclamo da falta de organização ou porque ela tá relaxada com a lição e sempre falo “eu nunca fui assim na escola, sempre fui organizada!”

Enfim, depois disso, ela terminou a lição e nós duas terminamos estressadas. Resolvi então tirar um tempo com Deus e perguntei pra Ele “Pai, o que eu faço pra lidar com essa situação? Não consigo não me estressar com essa postura da Gi em relação à escola!”

E logo ele respondeu “você tem que deixar ela errar! Qual o problema? Faz parte do processo!”. Quando comecei a ler a bíblia me deparei com 1 Coríntios 13, que fala sobre as características do amor:

4O amor é paciente e bondoso. O amor não é ciumento, nem presunçoso. Não é orgulhoso,nem grosseiro. Não exige que as coisas sejam à sua maneira. Não é irritável, nem rancoroso. Não se alegra com a injustiça, mas sim com a verdade. O amor nunca desiste, nunca perde a fé, sempre tem esperança e sempre se mantém firme.Um dia, profecia, línguas e conhecimento desaparecerão e cessarão, mas o amor durará para sempre” (1 Coríntios 13:4-8)

Deus estava me dando uma dica! (e um puxão de orelha!rs) : “Primeiro, não projete as suas expectativa na sua filha,sobre como e quem ela deve ser, ela tem suas próprias características e habilidades, ela não é você.

Em segundo lugar, o amor “não exige as coisas à sua maneira. Não é irritável, nem rancoroso”. Ame a sua filha, independente de como você enxerga o comportamento dela!

Um relacionamento de confiança é mais importante do que ela suprir as suas expectativas de desempenho, de certo ou errado. Ela é uma pessoa com personalidade e características únicas e vai aprender errando, cabe à você dar a ela todo suporte e amor necessários, o resto são detalhes do processo de aprendizagem!”

Acontece que, eu sempre fui uma pessoa perfeccionista e, às vezes, a busca pela perfeição me cega e eu me distancio do que realmente importa: relacionamento, confiança e aprendizado. Deus tem me ensinado muito sobre isso!

Eu li algo eu um livro (acho que foi no “Evangelho maltrapilho”) que agora faz muito sentido: era Deus falando aos seus filhos “ eu espero mais erros de você,do que você mesmo!”

Ele sabe que vamos errar, e é tolerante no nosso desenvolvimento como filhos. Ele sabe que  sem erros não há aprendizado e crescimento! E há graça suficiente no amor de Deus para conosco, que cobre todas as nossas falhas e tropeços!

Então hoje, essa foi minha lição como mãe: amar mais e criticar menos! Me inspirar mais no amor infinito e tolerante do Pai! De nada adianta nos esforçarmos para sermos corretos e irrepreensíveis, se não houver amor.

Obrigada pelo aprendizado Senhor, não sei o que seria de mim sem a Sua graça infinita! =)

Today, I lived an episode that is quite a common in my life. I was sitting with my daughter helping her with math homework! And I ended up getting stressed with her.

It all started when she made a mistake drawing that was supposed to be the representation of a  angle, and then we discovered that she had lost the eraser. I said to her “why do you always lose your things? You have to be more careful with your school stuff “(every week is something that disappears of her bag).

Then she began to make the drawings all disorganized in her notebook, then I complained again: “you have to organize the reasoning! It’s all messed up, the teacher will not understand what you did”.

This kind of situation happens a lot, almost every time I sit with her to help with the homework! Claiming the lack of organization or because she is sloppy with the school things! I always say to her “I’ve never been like this in school, I’ve always been organized!”

Anyway, after all, she finished her homework and we both ended up stressed. Then, I decided to spend some time with God, and  I asked Him “Father, what should I do to deal with this situation? I cannot avoid be stressed with my daughter´s attitude related to school!”

And soon he replied “you have to let her make mistakes! What’s the matter? It’s part of the learning process!”. And when I started reading the bible, I came across 1 Corinthians 13:

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or smug.  Is not proud, not rude. It does not require things to be its way. Love is neither irritable nor spiteful. It rejoices not in unrighteousness, but in truth. Love never gives up, never loses faith, always has hope and always stands firm. One day, prophecy, tongues and knowledge will disappear and cease, but love will last forever.”

God was giving me a tip!  “First, do not project your expectations on your daughter, about how or who she should be,she has her own characteristics and abilities! She is not you. Second, love “does not require things in its own way. It is not irritable or spiteful ” so, love your daughter regardless of how you see the whole situation, of what you expect!

A relationship of trust is more important than fulfill your expectations about her performance . She is a person with unique personality and traits and she will learn by making mistakes.

It is up to you to give her all the support and love she need, the rest are just details of the learning process! “

I’ve always been a perfectionist, but sometimes the pursuit of perfection blinds me and I distance myself from what really matters: relationship, trust, learning. God has taught me so much about it!

I read something in a book (I think it was in the “Ragamuffin Gospel”) that now makes too much sense to me : it was God speaking to his children “I expect more mistakes from you, than yourself!”

He knows that we are going to make mistakes, and he is patient in our development as sons and daughters. He knows that without failure there is no learning and growth! And there is grace enough in God’s love for us, which covers all our faults and stumbles!

So today, this was my lesson as a mother: criticize less and LOVE MORE!

Learning from the infinite and graceful love of the Father! It is useless to strive to be right and blameless if there is no love.

Thank you, for your patience to teach me, Lord! I don´t know what I would become without Your infinite grace in my life =)
