These days I was watching the Assassin’s Creed movie again. I saw for the first time in the movies and I loved the story, I read all the books!

However, watching for a second time, I had a totally different impression of the story, from when I read the books and watched before.

The Assassins’ creed looks incredible does not it? They fight voraciously, giving their own lives if necessary, for a very noble cause: protecting the “apple”, which contains the source of man’s violence, and the secret of free will!

So, I began to analyze the meaning of the apple and the quarrel between the two groups: Templars and Assassins.

If on the one hand, the Templars want to use the apple for their own selfish interests, since it contains the “truth” and also, it has the power to manipulate the human’s minds. On the other hand, the Assassins want to keep this truth “safe”, that means far as possible from the reach of mankind.

The lemma of the Assassins is very interesting:

“Where other men blindly follow the truth, remember nothing is true. Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember everything is permitted. We work in the darkness to serve the light, we are Assassins”.

It carries a certain sense of freedom, right? Both, the original story and the film want to position us in favor of the Assassins, after all, they cherish a society “free of manipulations “unlike the Templars, who want this instrument, the apple, to manipulate people to achieve their goals, which are not noble at all.

Remembering, the meaning of the apple, free will (which many misunderstood) presupposes that humanity is able to judge right and wrong, impartially, free from external influences.

If we consider this definition, we will see that free will is something unattainable, since our judgment is always conditioned by external factors: available information, personal experiences, acquired values and so on. Therefore, you will never be impartial. ( I´ll write some more about it in another opportunity)

In a parallel, I can easily classify the Templars into the class of “religious people”: who have always manipulated the truth through a powerful tool: the word left by God for humanity (in this case, the bible) for the sake of perverses interests.

Religion has a long history of manipulation and atrocities, all “in the name of God.”

But on the other hand, are the Assassins more noble? Apparently, they do not want to manipulate anyone, their motto even says “nothing is true, everything is allowed”.

The creed is based on what,then? A society without rules, without limitations created by laws or false morality. Sounds like a dream, right? These guys are real libertarians!

However, I wonder: how would be a world where there are no parameters of good and evil? Right and wrong? More precisely, a world without God?

Humanity has always wanted to get rid of God, or to be more accurately, the chains of religiosity, which are cruel and dictate unattainable standards!

Creating our own rules and parameters has always seemed a better way than follow a God who is never satisfied.

A supreme being who is always “punishes mankind countless times throughout history and says that everything is sin!”

Fortunately or unfortunately (It depends on your point of view), I feel that we are plunging into a culture more and more like the Assassin’s creed: nothing is true, everything is allowed!

Without moral standards, there is no right or wrong.

Today’s culture says: you are the one who define your own values, after all, the truth is relative and everything depends on your experiences; your gender is changeable, your biology does not define you anyway; no one can tell you what to do,you are not obliged to see the world based on the same principles of others.

The curious thing is: while people are trying to break the dictatorship of morality, this culture has created a new dictatorship, based on relativism: either you accept my truth or you are “out of the circle”, just an alienated and intolerant.

The values of our parents and grandparents are increasingly eroded: marriage is a failed institution, the family is no longer defined by a straight normative couple; any people who love and join together are a family, after all religion has already oppressed for too long , it does not dictate the rules anymore.

The woman who wants to be valued cannot be a mere housewife or just a mother, she has to stand up for her rights, and gain space in the field that used to be dominated by men. In the race for equality, anything is granted, even reversing roles, including making women the new “oppressor”, of those who disagree with their opinion.

We live in frightening times, where the current generation is being educated by the “fast food” culture, of immediacy and, growing without a parameter of right and wrong.

After all, the truth cannot be defined by a “hegemonic group” that wants to impose their own values.

Freedom is always the goal, even if it is necessary to run over anything that is in your path, with a steamroller.

“Where other men are limited by morality or law, remember: all is permitted.”

Let’s see what happens , where humanity goes with this mindset…

Esses dias resolvi assistir o filme “Assassin’s Creed” de novo. Já tinha assistido uma primeira vez no cinema e adoro a história, li todos os livros!

Assistindo pela segunda vez, tive uma impressão totalmente diferente da história, em relação a quando li os livros e assisti o filme no cinema.

A irmandade dos Assassinos parece incrível a primeira vista! Eles lutam de maneira voraz, dando a própria vida se preciso, por uma causa muito nobre : proteger a maçã, que contém a explicação para a violência do homem, e o segredo do livre–arbítrio.

Comecei a analisar o significado da maçã e a briga entre os dois grupos: templários e Assassinos. Se por um lado, os templários querem usar a maçã em prol de seus próprios interesses perversos, já que ela contém a “verdade” mas também, o poder de manipular a mente das pessoas, por outro, os Assassinos querem manter essa verdade segura, bem longe do alcance do resto da humanidade.

O lema dos Assassinos é bem interessante “onde outros homens cegamente seguem a verdade, lembre-se nada é verdade. Onde outros homens são limitados pela moralidade ou pela lei,lembre-se tudo é permitido.Trabalhamos nas trevas para servir a luz,somos Assassinos.”

Esse lema carrega um senso de liberdade,certo? Tanto a história original, quanto o filme quer nos influenciar a nos posicionarmos em favor dos Assassinos, eles são os “mocinhos”, afinal eles prezam por uma sociedade “livre de manipulações” ,ao contrário dos templários, que querem esse instrumento, a maçã, para manipular pessoas e atingir seus objetivos, que não são nada nobres.

A maçã é nada menos que um poderoso instrumento para cativar ou revelar o livre-arbítrio, que ( muitos interpretam erroneamente) pressupõe que a humanidade é capaz de julgar o certo e o errado, de maneira imparcial,livre de influências externas.

Se for considerarmos essa definição, veremos que o livre arbítrio é algo inalcançável,uma vez que nosso julgamento sempre estará condicionado a fatores externos: informações disponíveis, experiências pessoais, valores adquiridos e por aí vai. Logo, nossas decisões nunca serão imparciais ( pretendo ir mais a fundo nessa questão em outro momento).

Fazendo um paralelo com a nossa realidade, facilmente eu consigo classificar os templários na classe dos “religiosos”: eles sempre manipularam a verdade, através de uma ferramenta poderosa: a palavra deixada por Deus para a humanidade (nesse caso, a bíblia), em prol de interesses perversos.

A religião tem um longo histórico de manipulação e atrocidades, tudo “em nome de Deus”.

Mas, por outro lado, será que os Assassinos são mais nobres?

Aparentemente, eles não querem manipular ninguém, o lema deles até diz “nada é verdade, tudo é permitido”.

O credo então se baseia em que? Uma sociedade sem regras, sem limitações criadas por leis. Parece um sonho,certo? Os caras são verdadeiros libertários!

Porém, isso nos leva a uma questão: como seria um mundo onde não existissem parâmetros de bom e ruim? De certo e errado? Mais precisamente, um mundo sem Deus?

A humanidade sempre quis se livrar de Deus,ou mais precisamente, das correntes da religiosidade, que são cruéis e ditam padrões inalcançáveis!

Criar nossas próprias regras e parâmetros sempre pareceu uma saída melhor.Pra que seguir um Deus que nunca está satisfeito? Que castiga a humanidade inúmeras vezes ao longo da história e diz que tudo é pecado?

Felizmente ou infelizmente, eu sinto que estamos mergulhando numa cultura cada vez mais parecida com o credo dos Assassinos: nada é verdade, tudo é permitido! Sem padrões morais definidos, sem referências.

Hoje o mundo diz:”É você quem define sua identidade, o seu gênero é mutável, sua biologia não te define; é você quem define seus próprios valores, afinal a verdade é relativa e tudo depende das experiências pessoais, ninguém é obrigado a enxergar o mundo da mesma forma.”

Mas o curioso é, que ao tentar quebrar a ditadura da moralidade e valores hegemônicos, a sociedade tem criado uma nova ditadura,relativista: ou você aceita a minha verdade ou você é o mais novo alienado e intolerante.

Os valores dos nossos pais e avós estão cada dia mais desgastados: o casamento é uma instituição falida, a família não é mais definida a partir do modelo heteronormativo; quaisquer pessoas que se amam e se unem são uma família, afinal a religião, com seus valores, já oprimiu demais e não dita mais as regras.

A mulher que quer ser valorizada não pode ser uma mera dona de casa ou mãe, ela tem que ir à luta pelos seus direitos e ganhar espaço no terreno até então dominado pelos homens.

O que ninguém parece notar, no entanto, é que na corrida pela igualdade,vale tudo, até mesmo inverter os papéis, tornando-a a nova “opressora”, daqueles que discordam da sua opinião.

Vivemos tempos assustadores, onde a geração Z está sendo educada pela cultura “fast food”, do imediatismo, crescendo sem parâmetro de certo e errado, porque a verdade não pode ser definida por um “grupo hegemônico”, que quer impor seus próprios valores.

A liberdade é o objetivo, mesmo que pra isso seja necessário passar por cima do que estiver no seu caminho, com um rolo compressor. Afinal “onde outros homens são limitados pela moralidade ou pela lei, lembre-se: tudo é permitido.”

Vamos esperar pra ver até aonde a humanidade chega com essa mentalidade.
