“Acaso não ouviram? Não entendem? (…) Deus se senta acima do círculo da Terra…”

Claro que, declarações como esta entre os cristãos, são bem aceitáveis e sempre vem carregada de alívio e admiração. Porém, entre os cientistas céticos, só podem ser consideradas um absurdo.

“Antes,eu só te conhecia de ouvir falar; agora eu te vejo com meus próprios olhos”. (Jó 42:5)

Independente de sermos cristãos ou céticos, quantos equívocos nós somos capazes de cometer por não conhecemos a Deus? Se não conhecemos seu caráter, não sabemos do que ele é ou não capaz (embora ele tenha poder para fazer qualquer coisa).

Deus não pode negar a si mesmo, e por se apresentar como um Deus fiel, justo e amoroso, não podemos esperar outra coisa senão o cumprimento da Sua palavra.

Mas  eu mesma já cometi muitos erros, assim como todos os seres humanos, por achar que eu sabia quem era Deus, quais eram suas características e prioridades. Quantas vezes, ao passar por situações difíceis ou presenciar acontecimentos cruéis, eu pensei  “Deus não é tão bom assim” e  não está preocupado com o que acontece conosco. Quantas vezes eu ouvi a frase “mas se Deus é tão bom, porque…” e passei a questionar sua bondade.

No entanto, quando decidi me aproximar dele e conhecê-lo melhor, vários paradigmas, sobre ele e sobre o mundo, foram quebrados na minha mente. Todas as certezas que eu carreguei no meu coração por muito tempo, foram desmanchadas pela revelação do caráter de Deus, através das minhas experiências pessoais com ele.

A primeira coisa que devemos estar cientes, para entendermos melhor quem é Deus, é  que nunca seremos capazes de compreendê-lo completamente. Seu poder e seu amor são infinitos e, tentar explicá-los do nosso ponto de vista, é uma tentativa, no mínimo, estúpida.

Deus não nos criou para que nós o entendêssemos ou para que explicássemos a sua natureza, ele nos criou, única e exclusivamente, para nos relacionarmos com Ele, para sermos amados.

Outra  coisa que precisamos entender, para que tudo faça mais sentido, é que toda a história que Deus escreveu até hoje, não é sobre nós, é sobre Jesus! Ele é o centro de tudo, não a humanidade. (“Eu sou a videira; vocês são os ramos. Se alguém permanecer em mim e eu nele, esse dará muito fruto; pois sem mim vocês não podem fazer coisa alguma.João 15:5)

E, por último, devemos nos dar conta que, comparada à sabedoria e grandeza de Deus, o nosso entendimento é como um copo de água, querendo conter o oceano. Nós não fomos feitos para compreendê-lo em sua plenitude.

É por isso que a ciência até hoje não consegue explicar Deus, ele nunca quis que fosse assim. Podemos olhar ao nosso redor e enxergar milhares de evidências de seu poder; suas digitais estão por toda parte, por mais que os “grandes sábios” deste mundo insistam em negá-la.

No entanto, Deus não quer ser reconhecido através de uma equação matemática ou um experimento laboratorial. Ele quer ser encontrado por quem ele é, um Deus amoroso e pessoal. Um Deus que se fez carne e habitou entre nós, escolhendo sangrar pelos seus.

Você acha mesmo que um Deus com tamanho amor e humildade espera reconhecimento dos arrogantes sábios desta era?

O que ele deseja é encontrar verdadeiros adoradores, com corações ansiosos por serem preenchidos por sua presença e curados por seu amor infinito. O que ele quer é nos mostrar um amor que sempre surpreende.

“ Pois desde a criação do mundo os atributos invisíveis de Deus, seu eterno poder e sua natureza divina, têm sido vistos claramente, sendo compreendidos por meio das coisas criadas, de forma que tais homens são indesculpáveis; porque, tendo conhecido a Deus, não o glorificaram como Deus, nem lhe renderam graças, mas os seus pensamentos tornaram-se fúteis e o coração insensato deles obscureceu-se. Dizendo-se sábios, tornaram-se loucos.”

“Trocaram a verdade de Deus pela mentira, e adoraram e serviram a coisas e seres criados, em lugar do Criador, que é bendito para sempre. Amém.”  Romanos 1:20;22-25

“With, without. And who’ll deny it’s what the fighting’s all about?”  (Us and them)

Yesterday I watched a very interesting video, about God and physics, on youtube. The interviewee of this video, Dr Rivelino Montenegro, shows in a simple and extraordinary way how the laws that govern the world, now recognized by physics and other sciences, were reported in the bible  through simple men who were inspired by God , many centruries before(I’ll leave the link at the end of this text).

Of course, statements like this among Christians are well accepted and always loaded with relief and admiration, but among skeptical scientists, they can only be considered absurd.

“Before, I only knew you to hear; now I see you with my own eyes. ” Job 42: 5

But despite of we are believers or skeptics, how many misunderstandings can we make when we do not know God?

If we do not know his character, we do not know what he is or is not capable of, although he has the power to do anything. God cannot deny himself, and by presenting himself as a faithful and just God, and loving father, we should expect nothing but the fulfillment of His word.

I have to say, that I already made many mistakes , just like all human beings, because I thought I knew who God was, what were their characteristics and priorities. How many times, when I was going through difficult situations or witnessing cruel events, I thought that God was not so good and also, that he was not worried about what happens to this world. How many times have I heard the phrase “but if God is so good, why …” and I began to question his goodness.

However, when I decided to get closer to him and get to know him better, several paradigms, about him and about how life works, were broken in my mind. All the certainties that I carried in my heart for so long, were torn apart by the revelation of God´s loving character, through my personal experiences with him.

The first thing we should be aware of, to understand God better, is that: we will never be able to fully understand him. His power and love are infinite and the effort to explain them is, at least, a stupid attempt.

God did not create us to understanding him  or to explain His nature. He created us only and exclusively to have a real relationship with Him, to us be loved.

Another thing we need to understand, for everything  make more sense, is that the whole story that God has written day by day is not about us, it’s about Jesus! He is the center of everything,  not the humanity. (“I am the vine, you are the branches, if anyone abides in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit: for without me you can do nothing.” John 15: 5)

And finally, we must realize that, compared to the wisdom and greatness of God, our wisdom is like a glass of water, wanting to contain the ocean. We were not meant to comprehend Him in his fullness.

That is why science can not explain God until today, he never wanted it to be so.

We can look around and see thousands of evidences of his power; His fingerprints are everywhere, no matter how much the “great sages” of this world insist on denying it.

God does not want to be recognized through a mathematical equation or a laboratory experiment. He wants to be found for who he is, a loving, personal God. A God who became flesh, dwelt among us and bled for his children.

Do you really think that a God with such love and humility awaits recognition of the arrogant sages of this age?

What he wants are true worshipers, with hearts eager to be filled by his presence and healed by an infinite love. What he wants is shows to us a overflowing love.
