“Um dos mestres da lei aproximou-se e os ouviu discutindo. Notando que Jesus lhes dera uma boa resposta, perguntou-lhe: “De todos os mandamentos, qual é o mais importante?”
29 Respondeu Jesus: “O mais importante é este: ‘Ouve, ó Israel, o Senhor, o nosso Deus, o Senhor é o único Senhor. 30 Ame o Senhor, o seu Deus, de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua alma, de todo o seu entendimento e de todas as suas forças’[a]. 31 O segundo é este: ‘Ame o seu próximo como a si mesmo’[b]. Não existe mandamento maior do que estes”. Marcos 12;28-34
Ontem, passeando por textos e blogs li algo muito interessante num blog cristão: Deus nunca pediu que seus filhos se metessem nos assuntos políticos e outras questões que envolvem os valores e a ética desse mundo.
Em tempos de flaXflu político achei isso muito relevante e queria refletir sobre isso: em Atos dos apóstolos, Jerusalém era governada por Roma e Nero era seu Imperador. Nessa época, vivia-se o ápice dos ensinamentos de Jesus, por parte dos cristãos e, muitas pessoas morreram de forma brutal por proclamarem sua fé.
Mas a questão é: os apóstolos e os seguidores de Cristo faziam as únicas coisas que Jesus pediu que eles fizessem: proclamavam o Reino de Deus e cuidavam do próximo, dando suporte aos necessitados e vivendo em comunidade, dividindo tudo que tinham. O curioso nisso tudo é que, você não via os seguidores de Cristo se envolvendo na vida política de Roma, nem fazendo “protestos” pelas ruas.
Então porque vemos esse “circo evangélico” na política? Será mesmo que Deus queria uma bancada evangélica para representá-lo? E, aliás, ela por acaso faz isso? (na minha opinião, com certeza não!)
O cristianismo passou a ser um modelo religioso que sinceramente, me dá vergonha. As pessoas que se dizem “evangélicas” são as que, com frequência, envergonham o cristianismo e distorcem todos os ensinamentos que Jesus deixou pra nós.
Quando andava em meio ao povo, Jesus nunca disse pra que eles se unissem e lutassem contra o governo desse mundo. Não, Ele foi bem claro e direto sobre o que nós deveríamos fazer em seu nome: “Então, Jesus aproximou-se deles e disse: “Foi-me dada toda a autoridade nos céus e na terra. 19 Portanto, vão e façam discípulos de todas as nações, batizando-os em[ nome do Pai e do Filho e do Espírito Santo, 20 ensinando-os a obedecer a tudo o que eu lhes ordenei. E eu estarei sempre com vocês, até o fim dos tempos”.( Mateus 28:16-20)
E em outra passagem Jesus reforça: ” O meu reino não é deste mundo; se o meu reino fosse deste mundo, pelejariam os meus servos, para que eu não fosse entregue aos judeus; mas agora o meu reino não é daqui.”João 18:36
A ordem da grande comissão é bem clara: o que Jesus nos pede é que anunciemos o Reino de Deus e façamos discípulos. Em João, ele deixa bem claro que seu reino não é deste mundo, do contrário, não teria se entregado para morrer.
Jesus não se rebelou em nenhum momento contra seus acusadores, ele sabia que sua morte era necessária e que ela traria a liberdade para aqueles que cressem em sua autoridade e supremacia.
Ele nunca nos pediu para que nos envolvêssemos nos assuntos desse mundo e levantássemos bandeiras religiosas em meio aos incrédulos, para que assim eles “enxergassem a verdade”.
Por que então, estamos cada dia mais distraídos com assuntos que não nos dizem respeito? Esse mundo já tem seu destino determinado e fazer barulho não vai mudar isso.
O que nos cabe é plantar, regar e colher a semente do evangelho; orar para que a vontade de Deus se cumpra, não manchar o nome de Cristo com práticas e discursos religiosos ridículos.
Não to dizendo que devemos fechar os olhos pra tudo que está acontecendo ao nosso redor,não. Como cristãos nos temos que VIVER o evangelho, para que sejamos a luz e o sal deste mundo. A indignação só é válida quando ela se transforma em esforços que estão alinhados com os planos de Deus.
E um lembrete: Jesus não é gospel, nunca foi e nunca será.

Christianity and its priorities:
“One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, “Of all the commandments, which is the most important?”
29 “The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[e] 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’[f] 31 The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[g] There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:28-31)
Yesterday, strolling through texts and blogs, I read something very interesting on a Christian blog: God never asked his children to get involved in political affairs and other issues that involved the values and ethics of this world.
In times of political polarity, I consider this very relevant and I want to reflect on this: in Acts, Jerusalem was ruled by Rome and Nero was its Emperor. At that time, the apostles lived the culmination of the teachings of Jesus, many Christians died in a brutally way for proclaiming their faith.
However, my point is: the apostles and followers of Christ did the one things that Jesus asked them to do: they proclaimed the Kingdom of God and cared for others, supporting the needy and living in community, sharing everything they had. The curious thing about this is: you did not see the followers of Christ getting involved in the political life of Rome, nor doing “protests” in the streets.
So why do we see this “religious circus” in brazilian politics today? Did God really want a “Christian bench” to represent him? And, by the way, does it really do that? (in my opinion, certainly not!)
Christianity became a religious model that sincerely, embarrassed me as a Christian. People who call themselves “followers of Christ” are those who often shames Christianity and distort all the teachings that Jesus left for us.
When he walked among the people, Jesus never told them to unite and fight against the government of this world. No, He was quite clear and direct about what we should do in His name: “Then Jesus came to them and said,” All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”( Mathew 28:18-20
And in another passage Jesus reinforces, “My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then shall my servants fight, that I should not be delivered unto the Jews: but now my kingdom is not from here.” (John 18:36)
The order of the great commission is very clear: what Jesus asks of us is that we proclaim the Kingdom of God and make disciples. In John, he makes it very clear that his kingdom is not of this world, otherwise he would not have given himself to die.
Jesus did not rebel at any time against his accusers; he knew that his death was necessary and that it would bring freedom to those who believed in his authority and supremacy.
He never asked us to get involved in the affairs of this world and raise up religious flags among unbelievers, so that they would see the truth.
Why then, are we more and more distracted by matters that do not concern us? This world already has its destiny determined and making noise will not change that.
It is our job to plant, water, reap the seed of the gospel; pray that God´s will be fulfilled, not to tarnish the name of Christ with ridiculous religious practices and discourses.
I’m not saying we should close our eyes to everything that’s going on around us, no. As Christians we must LIVE the gospel, so that we may be the light and the salt of this world. Indignation is only valid when it transforms into efforts that are aligned with God’s plans.
Jesus is not religiosity, never was and never will be.
I was lost. His love found me!
